Rick Magill founded Service Planning Corporation in 1990. He has been a continuous Florida resident since 1967, and insurance licensed since 1986 (active licenses include life, health, and variable), securities registered since 1989 (active registrations include Series 6, 63, and 65).
Rick was born in Youngstown, Ohio, moved with his family to Plantation, Florida at age 3, and currently resides in Lauderdale By The Sea, Florida with his dynamic wife Lisa, and Basset Hound Fred.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Business Administration at the University of South Florida, Tampa (Go Bulls), entered the financial services industry in 1986, and founded Service Planning Corporation in 1990. He holds various insurance and securities registrations, and has been awarded the professional designations of Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Chartered Advisor for Senior Living (CASL), and Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC).
He is a member in good standing of numerous professional organizations, including the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the National Association of Health Underwriters, the Society of Financial Service Professionals, as well as, the Blues Foundation and South Florida Blues Society. He is also actively involved with many charitable organizations and has been a long time board member of Broward Meals on Wheels.
When not helping his clients, Rick enjoys spending time with his family, boating (catches include Marlin, Sail, Halibut, Salmon, Bass, Mahi, Wahoo, King, Grouper, Snapper, Stone Crabs & Caribbean Lobster), travel (over 30 States, 35 Countries, 4 Continents, and 3 Oceans), music (played saxophone in the Nova High School symphonic and jazz bands – Go Titans) & food (mostly fine dining but will try almost anything once, including worms, ants, and crickets).
